Research interests:
  • Electronic structure and optical properties of quantum semiconductor nanostructures based on III-V's and nitride semiconductors
  • Global optimization of linear and nonlinear optical properties of quantum semiconductor structures (quantum wells, superlattices, Bragg-confined structures) by methods of optimal control, simulated annealing algorithm and genetic algorithm
  • Quantum cascade lasers in magnetic field
  • Optimization of spin-dependent properties in nanostructures based on semimagnetic and nonmagnetic semiconductors

Short CV :

Born on July 16, 1973. in Belgrade. Obtained her BSc EE degree at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in May 1997., MSc EE in April 1999., and PhD EE in February 2001. In 1997. she started working as a research-assistant at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, in the Department of microelectronics and engineering physics. From 2000. to 2005., she was employed at the Institute of Physics, Belgrade, in the Center for solid state physics and new materials, as assistant research-professor. At the end of 2003. and the beginning of 2004, she was employed as a Visiting Research Fellow, at the Institute of Microwaves and Photonics, School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, University of Leeds, UK. In june 2001. she became an assistant-professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Belgrade, Department of microelectronics and engineering physics, involved in teaching several courses and in 2005, she transferred full-time to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

Projects:

  1. While receiving research-scholarship from the Ministry of Science and Technology (Republic of Serbia) she was a project member on "Microelectronics, optoelectronics and microsystem technologies" (ev. no. 10E05)
  2. Project of the Federal Ministry of development, science and environment, entitled "Theoretical and experimental research of semiconductor microstructures"
  3. Project of the Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection entitled "Physics of lowdimensional and nano-sized structures and materials" (ev. no 1469).
  4. Joint Project Grant (The Royal Society, collaboration of the University of Leeds with the University of Belgrade): "Computational methods for the design optimization of quantum optoelectronic devices"
  5. Visiting Research Fellow on the EPSRC Research Grant (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, UK), "Developing new optimization techniques for design and realization of mid- and far -infrared quantum cascade lasers"
  6. 2006. --, Project of the Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection entitled "Nanostructures and nanocomponents in physical electronics" (ev. no 141006).

Awards:

  • Research-scholarship from the Ministry of Science and Technology (Republic of Serbia)
  • Award of the Ministry of Science and Environmental Protection for best young scientists in 2002.
  • Award for most successful researchers in 2002. and 2003., granted in 2004.
  • In june 2004., selected as an "outstanding young researcher in physical sciences" by the Ministry of Science and Technology (Serbia) and the European Commission, Research Directorate-General, to represent Serbia and Montenegro at the 18. International meetings of Nobel laureates in Physics with young researchers in Lindau, Germany
  • Award for the best oral presentation at the Conference YUCOMAT 2005
