Job description: Jacobs University Bremen has an opening for a PhD student in the Electronic Devices and Nanophotonics group. The position is available for students with a strong interest in organic electronics, electronic devices, semiconductors and material science. The aim of the project to develop and characterize organic thin film transistors. The successful candidate will have a degree (M.S) in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields. In exceptional cases students with a B.Sc might be considered for the position. The School of Engineering and Science at Jacobs University offers a research-oriented working environment with an informal and dynamic atmosphere and a high degree of interactions between students, faculty and staff. Late applications are accepted until the position is filled.

Odsek za fizičku elektroniku i Katedra za mikroelektroniku i tehničku fiziku organizuju seriju predavanja

MODERNA PRIMENJENA FIZIKA

za studente prve godine Elektrotehničkog fakulteta u toku maja i juna 2008. godine. Predavanja će se držati u okviru redovnih termina za predavanja Fizike 2 u sali 70. Teme predavanja i raspored su istaknuti na tabli za fiziku, sajtu ETF-a i specijalnoj stranici na sajtu Katedre.

Predavanja imaju za cilj upoznavanje studenata sa dostignućima i trendovima u savremenoj primenjenoj fizici. Predavanja drže profesori i saradnici Elektrotehničkog fakulteta.

Ljubazno pozivamo SVE studente prve godine, uključujući i one koji ne slušaju kurs Fizike 2, da prisustvuju predavanjima.

15th Central European Workshop on Quantum Optics 2008

Belgrade, Serbia, 30 May - 3 June 2008

Institute of Physics in Belgrade, under the auspices of the Serbian Physical Society, is organizing 15th Central European Workshop on Quantum Optics. CEWQO 2008 should be a continuation of a successful series of yearly meetings which have offered excellent opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and ideas between leading scientists and young researchers in quantum optics and related areas. Recent workshops in this series took place in Vienna (2006) and Palermo (2007). Co-operations between different laboratories and joint applications to the European Funding Organizations should be a by-product to this meeting.
