OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE:

The course provides basic principles, status and perspectives in development of biosensors, for conversions of "biosignals" from molecular level (water and air polution, poisons in food, metalic ions, biochemical agents, activities of bacteria and viruses, cellular and intercellular processes) into convenient signal for further processing (electrical signals, fluorescence, plasmon resonance, scanning microscopies, electrochemical methods, impedance microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, fiberoptic signals, MEMS and NEMS techniques, laboratory-on-chip, molecular machines), with potentially wide applications in medicine, pharmacy, microbiology, environment protection, control of industrial processes, and military applications. During the course, students will be intoduced into some contemporary researches on optical trapping and biomedical nano-manipulation in other centers in Serbia.

WHY LISTENING THIS COURSE?

Optical Trapping and Biomedical Nano-manipulation provides basic principles for conversions of "biosignals" from tissues into electrical and optical signal convenient for further processing and application in diagnostics and curing.
