Teaching methods : 30 hours of lectures + 30 hours of supervised problem classes + 15 hours of seminars in other centers and laboratories, midterm tests.
Approximately 75 hours of personal study and exercise (3 hours per week during semestre, and approximately 30 hours of preparation during exam terms).

Assessment methods : Exam - Training in selected laboratory method of characterization (25%); Written seminar work (25%); Written exam: one problems/theoretical question to be solved (25% each), plus 50 multiple choice questions to be answered (1% each). Regular presence at seminars replaces 10% of the exam. To pass the course, a mark of at least 50% must be achieved.
